The next chapter of art, culture and discovery is taking shape across Alberta and British Columbia.
Rocky Mountain Art Tour (RMAT) has always connected people with art and the places that inspire it. As we prepare for the next phase of the tour, we’re building on that foundation with a renewed focus on artists, local creativity and meaningful cultural discovery.
Behind the scenes, RMAT is undergoing a significant transformation.
Introducing Our Creative Corridors
We’re developing a series of Creative Corridors across Alberta and British Columbia that connect visitors with artists and the communities, cultural destinations, and landscapes that shape their work.
From Stony Plain and Jasper to Canmore, Invermere, Grande Cache and the Robson Valley, each corridor will offer visitors opportunities to discover local artists, galleries, public art, cultural landmarks and carefully selected experiences.
Rather than following a prescribed itinerary, visitors can explore the places that interest them and create their own journey.
We curate the artists. We show you the places. You choose the experience.
Putting Artists First
At the heart of this next chapter is our commitment to the artists themselves.
We’re introducing a Founding Artist program, inviting a select group of artists and makers to help establish RMAT’s expanded creative network.
Through dedicated artist profiles, artwork galleries, editorial features and promotional opportunities, we’re developing new ways for artists to share their work and connect with visitors, travellers and collectors.
We’re also introducing Digital Artist Displays at participating locations, beginning at Copper Point Resort in Invermere. These displays will showcase participating artists and let visitors access their RMAT profiles directly through QR codes.
A New Experience Is Coming
We’re currently restructuring and significantly improving our website to better reflect this expanded vision.
The updated platform will make it easier to discover artists, explore Creative Corridors and connect with the people and places that make each region distinctive.
With support from our hospitality partner, INNhotels, RMAT continues to bring together art, culture, hospitality, and regional discovery.
